Both the Music and TV apps present a similar design language, with a gray sidebar listing sections of content and a large area on the right for the actual content. What can also be seen in the screenshots is the return of colorful sidebar icons to macOS. In both apps, the sidebar icons use the tint color of the app, have a drop shadow and follow a continuous color gradient from top to bottom, very different from the monochrome icons that are common in sidebars in previous versions of macOS....

A WhatsApp update yesterday added the option of using Face ID to protect your chats, and that’s an option I think could be usefully added to other apps – including some of Apple’s own. One could question the value. After all, locking your phone protects all your apps, so why bother offering app-by-app protection too … ? But I’d answer that in two ways. First, intelligently managed choice is always good....

Square Enix has released a new batch of screenshots of the FF7 Remake and it was revealed that the game will use a weapon upgrade system that is similar to the one used in Final Fantasy IX. The characters in the original version of Final Fantasy VII gained most of their special abilities from equipable items known as materia, which could be switched between members outside of battle. The materia system in Final Fantasy VII allowed for a lot of customization and made it easier for players to take their favorite characters into battle without having to worry about them being underpowered, but it also meant that characters were less distinct, especially in comparison to the cast of Final Fantasy VI and their unique abilities....

The feline first rose to fame in 2011 on Tumblr, and her popularity soon skyrocketed after being featured on Reddit, earning many admirers thanks to her distinct face and cute features. Lil Bub was eight years old. The cat became an internet darling in large part due to her inspiring origin story. Lil Bub was the runt of her litter, and had several genetic mutations that resulted in facial deformities that made it difficult for her to be adopted....

Former Teen Mom Farrah Abraham said that Jenelle Evans called her after being fired from MTV. Evans, who has been on the MTV show since 2010, was cut from the network and asked Abraham for advice. The former Teen Mom 2 star voiced her frustration with MTV back in July when they opted to fire her following her legal issues earlier this year. Evans became a Teen Mom fan-favorite after getting her reality TV start on the TLC show 16 and Pregnant, where viewers got to see the then-teenager give birth to her first son, Jace, back in 2010....

The Fast Saga kicked off with the original The Fast and the Furious movie in 2001. The movie starred Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster, all of whom have returned for future films. The late Paul Walker was also a prominent figure in the franchise up until his passing in 2013....

Amid a growing push towards improved digital health, Facebook is seemingly testing a new tool that would show users how long they spend on the platform per day. As reported by TechCrunch, the “Your Time on Facebook” feature was discovered in an unreleased version of the Facebook mobile app, with the company confirming the feature’s development… This feature shows years a tally of how much time you have spent on Facebook over the last seven days, as well as an average for the total week....

Facebook today is rolling out its latest feature to try to bridge the gap between its services and Instagram. As reported by TechCrunch, Facebook is now allowing users to sync their Instagram contact directly to Messenger, for better or for worse… The option to sync your Instagram contacts appears in Facebook Messenger’s “People” tab. It joins the option to sync your existing phone contacts with Messenger. Essentially, once you tap on the “Connect Instagram” button, Messenger automatically begins adding your Instagram contacts to Messenger....

Fairphone’s motivation is to develop a mobile device which does not contain conflict minerals and which has been manufactured using fair labor conditions. We all know that there are very, very few OEMs out there who can make these affirmation, as the vast majority is looking to have increase their profit margins as much as possible. Fairphone claims to be different and better than the rest. The first Fairphone smartphone debuted in 2013, and the company has managed to sell more than 60,000 units....

Actor Vin Diesel reveals John Cena’s casting for Fast & Furious 9. In a video clip posted to Instagram, Diesel discusses his spiritual connection to the late Paul Walker, who starred in the first six franchise films, and then welcomes Cena into the family. In 2001, Universal Pictures released The Fast and the Furious, a crime action film in which Walker’s Brian Conner infiltrates a Los Angeles car hijacking organization run by Diesel’s Dominic Toretto....

Macy, in a Boston courtroom, Huffman is the first parent involved with the college admissions scandal to receive sentencing. On March 12, headlines surged across the nation reading that Fuller House’s Lori Loughlin and Desperate Housewives’ Felicity Huffman had been indicted in the nation’s largest college admissions scheme. Orchestrated by William Rick Singer, the college admissions scheme allowed for parents to pay large sums of money to bribe college officials and alter test scores to admit their children into prestigious universities....

Facebook shared its latest safety initiative today with a new feature focused on rescuing missing children. Through a partnership with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Facebook will now include AMBER Alerts in the timeline of its users boosting exposure of the critical information needed in such cases. “When local or state police determine that a case qualifies for an AMBER Alert, the alert is issued by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and distributed through the Facebook system with any available information, including a photograph of the missing child, a license plate number, the name and description of the child and suspected abductor....
