Some Fallout 76 are reportedly attacking Fallout 1st subscribers in-game, griefing those who have chosen to purchase Bethesda’s new Fallout 76 premium subscription. Bethesda announced the $12.99-per-month subscription, which adds useful new functions to the game, shortly after it delayed the Fallout 76 NPC update. The agency’s four commissioners voted unanimously to revoke the licence of China Unicom’s US subsidiary, with the agency explaining that the telco’s presence in the US posed a national security risk for the Chinese government to access, store, disrupt, and misroute US communications and engage in espionage. “In March 2021, the Commission found that China Unicom Americas had failed to dispel serious concerns regarding its retention of its authority to provide telecommunications services in the United States,” the FCC said in a statement....

Facebook’s constant string of privacy scandals is finally catching up to it. The Washington Post reports today that Facebook is negotiating a record breaking, multi-billion dollar settlement with the FTC. If the dollar amount sounds mind-bogglingly high to you, it’s because the largest summons previously issued was a $22.5 million dollar fine against Google. Clearly, it would be a historic decision and the largest ever fiscal penalty imposed on a corporation — tech sector or not....

After announcing its new 3D Photos back in May at its F8 conference, Facebook has made the feature available to all users today. The new feature uses AI to create a depth perspective that offers a slight 3D experience (via TechCrunch). I’m a huge fan of Apple’s Continuity features. Being able to start writing something on one device and continue it on another is fantastic. Pasting between devices is really handy. Being able to answer a phone call on my Mac is often more convenient than doing so on my phone when I’m working. And so on. Following nearly 9 months of renovation and expansion work, Apple’s retail store in Natick, Massachusetts will reopen on February 16th at 10:00 A.M. local time. The updated location is expected to more than double the width of the previous storefront as a Forum and Video Wall are added. Apple originally announced that its Natick store would close temporarily starting on April 22nd last year, but the renovation timeline was unusually delayed....

EyeFi, the company behind the popular SD cards that carry WiFi support, has today announced that it has acquired OkDoThis. OkDoThis is a popular photography app on iOS that aims to inspire photographers to take a taking pictures daily and offering a platform on which they can share and discuss photography. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a press release, EyeFi explained that the acquisition of OkDoThis allows it to more directly engage with photographers....
