Toolbox

If you are a developer, then you should really know Toolbox. Fedora has created the Toolbox for easily handling containers. If you do not know the container, we have covered it here. With Toolbox users can easily create, remove and list containers with easy to use toolbox commands. Each container a user creates is in the main system but completely separate. The packages installed in the container are isolated from the main system. This way, user can test out different settings without messing with the main system. If anything goes wrong with the container, simply remove the container and create a new one. Toolbox is preinstalled in Fedora Silverblue 30 and 31. To be able to use Toolbox in Fedora Workstation or any Fedora spin, install it using the following command –

sudo dnf install toolbox

Once installed, use it from the command line to manage containers. Toolbox commands – Create container –

toolbox create

Enter toolbox –

toolbox enter –container name

List toolboxes –

toolbox list

Remove toolbox –

toolbox rm [–force] name

This is how easy it is to manage containers in Fedora. So these are the main features that you will enjoy in Fedora 31. All the software in the new release have been updated to their latest versions.
