Spider-Man: Far From Home will hit digital and Blu-ray in the (very) near future. Released in theaters this July, Far From Home was the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, picking up after the events of Avengers: Endgame as Peter Parker mourned the loss of Tony Stark and accepted the responsibility of being the “next Iron Man.” Earning positive reviews from critics, Far From Home was also a massive commercial success, becoming Sony’s highest-grossing film of all-time and the first Spider-Man movie to hit $1 billion worldwide.

Spider-Man’s been in the news of late, with word that Marvel Studios is no longer involved with the production of Spider-Man films. They couldn’t reach a new agreement with Sony, meaning Peter Parker is out of the MCU. Of course, the character will be appearing in other films in the future, but before then, Far From Home will swing into living rooms. And, fans can bring Spider-Man to their homes really soon.

Today, Sony announced Far From Home will be available on digital beginning September 17, followed by the physical Blu-ray release on October 1. The studio also revealed a list of bonus features and a clip from the “Peter’s To-Do List” short film. Check it out in the space below:

The timing of this is arguably peculiar, since Sony just gave Far From Home a theatrical rerelease with several minutes of additional footage (which includes the “Peter’s To-Do List” short). The rerelease had a positive impact on the film’s weekend-to-weekend box office, so it’s odd the movie will be on home media in two weeks. People interested in watching Far From Home again can easily wait to own their own copy, rather than making the trek to the multiplex again. That being said, Sony didn’t have a lot riding on the Far From Home rerelease, which was basically a novelty to take advantage of the typically slow Labor Day weekend. They weren’t gunning for any records, a la Endgame chasing Avatar.

It’s impossible to not notice a few of the bonus features explicitly play up Far From Home’s connections to the MCU, with featurettes dedicated to Nick Fury & Maria Hill and Iron Man’s William Ginter-Riva. The “Stepping Up” supplement sounds like it’ll be very painful for MCU fans, as it chronicles Spider-Man’s time in the MCU to date and teases what’s next for the character. From the looks of things, this Blu-ray release was put together before the Marvel/Sony deal fell apart, and there wasn’t any time to change it. Far From Home did set up an exciting future for Peter Parker, but it’s one that’ll no longer be part of the MCU, so hopefully everything can work out from here.
