While the anticipation surrounding 20th Century Fox’s Logan has reached palpably high levels, there’s also an air of sadness surrounding that excitement for the film. The reason being is that it marks the last time fans will ever get to see Hugh Jackman play Wolverine in a film, ending his 17-year long on-screen journey as the character, which began in 2000’s X-Men. Aside from just the beloved nature of his performance, fans have been quick to lament all the opportunities Jackman’s Wolverine will miss by him saying goodbye now. Chief among those “missed opportunities,” of course, is the lack of crossover potential now between his Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool.

That disappointment has only grown even more so, following the actor’s recent comments to Screen Rant, that if there had been an X-Men and Avengers crossover in the works, he might have stayed on a little bit longer. His comments were, understandably, heartbreaking for the fans out there who have been desperately hoping for a similar crossover these past few years.

It’s been confirmed once and for all now that there is no post-credits scene attached to Logan, but that doesn’t mean fans can’t come up with their own, right? And that’s just what YouTube user Curly McLane did with their latest video, which shows off a fan-made post-credits scene for the film featuring Reynolds’ Deadpool complaining about losing the “Murtaugh to his Riggs.” The clip then ends with Deadpool ducking out of the way, when none other than Thor’s hammer comes barrelling into his movie theater, leading Deadpool to tease his upcoming trip to “Disneyland.” Take a look at it for yourself in the space above.

Ever since both the X-Men and the Marvel Cinematic Universes really came into form, comic book fans everywhere have been pleading with Fox and Marvel to find some way to have an onscreen crossover between the X-Men and the Avengers. Nothing has come to fruition as of yet, of course, but the fan demand for it to happen hasn’t slowed down either. Then again, after the miraculous deal between Sony and Marvel to include Spider-Man in the MCU, there’s always the possibility for even the craziest of agreements to be made. Even if it is between two of the biggest studios in the world.

Unfortunately, if one thing is for sure it’s that Hugh Jackman won’t be involved in that if it ever happens, with the actor reiterating several times throughout the Logan press tour that this is his last film as the character. He even went so far as to voice his support for an eventual Wolverine recasting to be made sometime down the line. It’s just a shame then, for Jackman to give one of the best superhero performances ever, consistently for 17 years, only to leave just when the possibility of him getting to do the team-ups and crossovers fans have been waiting years to see, finally begin to come in to fruition. So fan-made or not, at least this post-credits scene imagines a world where that might not have been the case.
