Troubleshoot Facebook App

Force Stop Apps

You can do is to ensure that you close all active apps and those that run in the background. Sometimes, too many apps and services running together can overwhelm the system and cause random shutdowns or overheating.

  • Open the app drawer and then tap Settings.
  • Tap on Apps & Notification.
  • If you’re looking for a system or default app, tap on More settings at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  • Select Show system apps.
  • Find and tap the app you want to force stop.
  • Tap Force Stop.

Clear App Cache

Reinstall Apps

Below are the steps to delete or uninstall an app on OnePlus:

  • From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap Apps & Notifications.
  • Now, tap on See all apps.
  • Ensure All is selected (upper-left).  If necessary, tap the Dropdown icon (upper-left) then select All.
  • Locate then select the appropriate app. If system apps aren’t visible, tap the More options icon (upper-right) then select Show system apps.
  • Tap Uninstall to delete an app.
  • Tap OK to confirm.

Another way to easily uninstall an app is by going to the Home or Apps screen and holding the app icon. Here’s how:

  • Go to the Home or Apps screen.
  • Find the app you want to delete.
  • Tap and hold the icon of the app.
  • Select Uninstall.

Once the app has been uninstalled, restart the device and reinstall it to check for the problem again.

Reset App Preferences

  • Open the app drawer and then tap Settings.
  • Tap on Apps & Notification.
  • Tap on More settings at the upper right (three-dot icon).
  • Select Reset app preferences.
  • Restart your device and check for the problem.

Clear Cache from Recovery Mode

In case you don’t know what is recovery, the first thing the bootloader rings up is the recovery. Recovery Mode refers to a special bootable partition, which contains a recovery application installed in it. And you can fix some problems with your phone. Follow the steps to clear cache from recovery mode:

  • Switch off your OnePlus device.
  • Now press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons simultaneously until you see the recovery mode options on your device.
  • Once you see the recovery options, you can let go of the two buttons.
  • The Recovery screen menu will now appear.
  • Use the Volume button to go to Wipe Cache Partition then press the Power button to confirm the selection.
  • Wait until your device wipes out all cache or temporary data from the system partition.
  • Press the Power button again to reboot the device.

This clears all the temporary data from the device. And then it works like new.

Troubleshoot apps in Safe Mode

In case you don’t know what is safe mode, in safe mode, the system temporarily disable all third-party applications you installed on your device. By doing this we can figure out which app is occurring the problem. Follow the below step to turn Safe Mode on:

Reset Your Device

  • Open the app drawer and then tap Settings.
  • Tap on then tap on System.
  • Now, tap on Reset options
  • Tap Erase all data (factory reset).
  • Finally, tap on RESET PHONE.
  • Don’t select the internal storage checkbox. Select it only if you are sure you have backed up everything on internal storage, including photos and videos, music, documents, and other files.
  • Tap the ERASE EVERYTHING button now and let the phone do its thing.
  • The device would restart automatically after performing the factory reset.

Hard Reset

  • First, power off your phone normally.
  • To turn it on, press and hold the Volume up + Power buttons simultaneously.
  • Don’t release them until you see the OnePlus logo on the screen.
  • Tap on the ‘Wipe data/Factory reset‘ option.
  • Now tap on the ‘Wipe data/Factory reset‘ option to confirm your selection.
  • The phone will reset and on the new screen, use the Volume up button to scroll to the ‘Reboot system now.’ This will reboot your phone normally and that’s it!
