Warning: Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity is a MATURE comic book
The most iconic (and twisted) love affair in DC history is being re-imagined in Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity, putting a new spin only possible in the pages of a DC Black Label title. Mature, violent, and based in the reality of serial killers, the clown-faced supervillain is claiming victims across Gotham City in more twisted fashion than ever… and Harleen Quinzel, brilliant forensic psychiatrist, is hot on his trail.
The debut issue of the series from writer Kami Garcia and artists Mike Mayhew, Mico Suayan and Jason Badower pulled no punches itself. This new rendition of the Joker/Harley dynamic is based not in love, and not quite obsession, but a desire for revenge. After the mysterious serial killer murdered Harleen’s roommate years earlier before dropping off the map, she has been waiting. Now that he’s back and killing, she’s been called in to find him when nobody else in Gotham can. And in our exclusive preview of Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity #2 she shows that no crime scene is too strange, deranged, or disgusting to get to her. Not yet, anyway.
Readers can check out the official preview pages below, for their first look at what depravities this re-imagined Joker is up to. And while the comic itself keeps the gore to a minimum, the psychology behind Joker’s crimes is guaranteed to make your skin crawl.
Joker/Harley Quinn: Criminal Sanity #2 will be released in a comic shop near you on January 1st, 2020. The third issue is expected to be released on February 5th, so check out the full solicitation details and plot synopsis below:
