Kabam’s MARVEL Contest of Champions celebrates its fifth anniversary tomorrow, December 10th, 2019. To celebrate the milestone we are exclusively debuting the MARVEL Contest of Champions 5-year anniversary trailer and sharing some interesting stats from the journey.
In MARVEL Contest of Champions, players step into the role of a summoner, pitting their champions against opponents in the ultimate Secret War. It’s a mobile fighting game where players can team up with players to form alliances, unlocking, upgrading, and customizing their ever-growing roster of combatants all the through.
The new, exclusive, must-watch MARVEL Contest of Champions trailer below sees the Watcher giving the ultimate choice to a summer (you, the player) and features several alternate versions of iconic heroes from Marvel Realm of Champions, with a few surprises at the end. It’s a must-watch for players and fans of Marvel Comics lore.

MARVEL Contest of Champions launched December 10, 2014 and in the five years since, over 25 billion Crystals (used to unlock Gold, Units, Champions, etc.) have been opened by players, the same players who’ve formed over 1.1 million alliances during this time featuring over 18 million alliance members.
More than 160 Champions have been released since MARVEL Contest of Champions debuted, helping the game earn over 2.8 Billion Hours Played from over 215 Million Summoners. Together, they’ve participated in over 70 Billion Completed Fights. For comparison, the four-year anniversary last December 10th highlighted its 135 Champions since the game’s launch with a total playtime of over 2 billion hours and 39 billion fights between players. That’s some major growth!
