But some users are finding that this has only increased their frustration – because the service is unable to cope with more than one language. One of the MITRE ATT&CK tactics is lateral movement. This tactic addresses the fact that an attacker does not always immediately gain access to the system that hosts their final objective. Alongside today’s release of macOS Catalina, Apple has pushed a new performance-oriented Final Cut Pro X update featuring optimizations for the new Mac Pro and Pro Display XDR. The new Final Cut Pro 10.4.7 update is available for download today on the Mac App Store. Although the new Mac Pro is a centerpiece of this year’s Mac releases, taking advantage of the power available with the all-new Mac Pro and the high-resolution, HDR viewing capabilities of Apple Pro Display XDR, Apple notes that the new Metal engine delivers performance gains across a wide range of Mac systems....

2000’s Final Destination was partially inspired by a real-life disaster, making the movie about escaping death all the more ominous. Moments before boarding a plane for his senior class trip to Paris, Alex has a premonition showing the plane explode right after takeoff, killing everyone aboard. When small instances of his vision start happening, he begins to panic. He and several others of the class eventually get off the plane and all watch as the plane explodes on takeoff....

Dropbox released version 2.3.12 as an “experiemental” build today, adding a few interesting new features that will hopefully make it through the beta process into the shipping version of the app. The new features, as noted by MacStories, include the option to have screenshots automatically added to your dropbox with the link copied to your clipboard for easy sharing, much like the automatic sharing features found in CloudApp and Droplr....

MacCallister Higgins, the co-founder of autonomous taxi company Voyage shared a tweet about Apple’s roof array on its Project Titan vehicles. Higgins breaks down what’s unique about Apple’s approach, which may also hint at the possibility for Apple to offer an autonomous vehicle aftermarket add-on. Higgins tweeted the following: TechCrunch noted it’s significant when an expert from an autonomous vehicle company is talking about another company’s efforts. Higgins responded to some questions about the tweet, sharing that “the majority of the compute stack is likely located inside the roof unit” for Apple’s setup as opposed to other companies that use the trunk to store system components....

While today’s Facebook news is focused on the much-anticipated Messenger app redesign, the company has apparently been silently working on a new product aimed at a younger crowd. According to a report from TechCrunch, Facebook has confirmed that it has been working on LOL, an app that’s essentially a feed for funny videos and GIFs. Currently, beta testers see LOL as a replacement for the Watch tab in Facebook. However, the team says that the feature will be a standalone app or an extension in one of the company’s other apps....

If you had told theatergoers back in 2001, after the release of The Fast and the Furious, that the mediocrely reviewed movie would spawn an entire franchise with 7 sequels (with even more to come), becoming one of the most lucrative Hollywood franchises of all time, you would have been laughed at, but here we are. Fate of the Furious comes out in just over a month, and the franchise has clearly undergone an evolution in the decade and a half since it first launched as you can see by the newest trailers....

Facebook has today open-sourced its rapid prototyping tool ‘Tweaks’, a framework that helps application developers quickly iterate on their projects and test out different possibilities for their iOS apps. Tweaks makes it really simple for developers to adjust parameters and properties in their application and then test them out in realtime. This is particularly useful for rapid user interface development, which often consists of merely tweaking parameters (like colors or durations) than any involved work....

Facebook is trialling an interesting new approach to combatting revenge porn, when someone uploads intimate photos of a former partner to the Internet. The system it is trying would prevent specific photos ever being uploaded to Facebook, Instagram or Messenger – but you do have to privately share them with Facebook first … ABC News reports that the system is being trialled in Australia and three other countries. You send the nude to yourself in Messenger, and Facebook creates a hashed digital fingerprint of the photo – an encrypted version of the raw data in the image file....

Quickshot features four AI-powered modes with auto adjustment features as well as a photo gallery with batch editing tools. Quickshot starts with four shooting modes: HDR, Quickshot, Photo, and Strobe. HDR, or high dynamic range, prompts you to tap the screen to automatically calibrate exposure settings and take the best shot in hard-to-capture lighting conditions....

We’re buzzing ahead of the release of Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ TV show, which will show how Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson cope in a world where Captain America, or at least Steve Rogers, is no longer at the heart of the action. My iCloud Drive usage surged over the last few months for two reasons. First, I have a great experience with iCloud Photo Library syncing my photos and videos across my devices. Storing 16,655 images and 1,459 videos takes up 212.78GB of iCloud storage for me so I’m just over the 200GB for $2.99/month plan. The next plan available is 1TB for $9.99 which I gladly pay to continue the experience, and that leaves a lot of free iCloud storage for other purposes....

Speaking today on CNBC, Ferrari chairman and Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne spoke affirmatively when asked if he believes Apple will make a car. The Ferrari boss explained that he believes the automobile space is one in which Apple can exhibit its skills, clarifying that he believes Apple will have a car assembled rather than building it on their own. Marchionne added that Apple has not approached Fiat for being its partner for assembling a car....
