Evans made his Fast & Furious debut in the sixth installment of the series as the main villain of the feature. Unfortunately for him, he was left in a coma following those events to begin Furious 7 before he returned for a surprise appearance in The Fate of the Furious in 2017....

Facebook’s Moments app, launched last summer, makes it easier to share photos with your friends by using both location data and face-recognition to identify which friends were with you when the photos were taken. The latest version of the app now lets you include videos too – but it can’t yet recognize faces in those, so you’ll have to add them manually. Both photos and images are now presented as a collage, and there are new upload options, including the option to wait for a WiFi connection to avoid burning through your mobile data....

A scoop from CNET today says that Facebook will begin shutting down Moments on February 25 — an app launched to help simplify photo sharing between friends. Initially launched in 2015, the failing service saw exceedingly low usage by users, with data pointing to just 80,000 downloads in the previous month. The premise of Moments was simple — share photos between groups of friends privately, circumventing a public Facebook sharing process or the hassle of group texting entire albums....

Facebook addicts, rejoice! You favorite social network has finally launched its pre-announced App Center, complete with 600 apps that feature Facebook integration of some sort. We reported this morning that Facebook’s App Center appeared in its iOS app for one user, perhaps indicating a launch this evening. Just as we predicted, the time has come. Facebook is currently holding an app-themed event to go over features. The company said it would push the App Center heavily on the left-hand sidebar on both the desktop version and mobile version of the app....

The Wall Street Journal reports Facebook is working on a new camera app separate from its main offerings that the company hopes will encourage increased sharing of photos and videos. The still in-development app in its current form opens immediately to a camera mode and there are plans to offer live streaming video functionality as well, according to the report: Last month Facebook unveiled its latest product updates and upcoming projects at its F8 developer conference....

Fantastical for iPhone and iPad, the alternative calendar and Reminders app from Flexibits, received a major feature update today for iOS 8 users. If you’re unfamiliar with Fantastical, the ability to turn text input like “Dinner with Tim tomorrow night at 7pm” into a calendar appointment without fiddling with menus and dials is it’s killer feature. Fantastical for iPhone received an update last month which optimized the user interface for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users, and today’s new version adds a Today view widget in Notification Center, an app extension for use in other apps, and interactive notifications for responding to alerts without even opening the app....

Fear the Walking Dead season 5 delivered the best ending of any season in The Walking Dead universe. The Walking Dead has had its share of explosive, emotional finales that puts the viewer on the edge of their seat, but Fear the Walking Dead took it to another level. One of the key features of regular AirPods is ear detection, which automatically pauses the song when you take the earphones off. We’ve learned that AirPods Studio will have a similar feature, but it will work in a different way. Instead of ear detection, Apple is working to include sensors that can detect whether the headphones are on your head or neck. Based on this, we assume that AirPods Studio will play or pause content when they detect being placed on your head....

Facebook has announced that it will be dropping its ‘Trending’ feature that promotes popular news content on the platform. The change comes as the company is working to refresh and improve its user experience. Detailed in a press release, Facebook says that its trending feature was only available in select countries and didn’t prove to be popular. The company says that removing trending will “make way for future news experiences” and that most users are now consuming news and content through video on the platform....

Facebook Live restrictions have been introduced in response to the New Zealand terrorist attack, when the gunman live-streamed footage of the shootings, making good on a promise made back in March … However, while Facebook makes the move sound tough, describing it as a ‘one strike policy,’ the details are vague and the remedy seems weak. The company announced the new approach yesterday. The vagueness arises from the fact that Facebook doesn’t list the specific violations which will trigger the Facebook Live restrictions, nor does it specify the time-outs that will be imposed, merely giving 30 days as an example....

Facebook seems to understand that it’s all about apps these days, so the company has been launching them one after the other, for all possible platforms. Android has a Facebook app, that got revamped a little while ago, as well as a standalone chat app, called Facebook Messenger. Chat works well from the main app, too. So does managing Facebook pages, but Facebook has probably realized that it’s much easier for the user to have a specific app for a specific task....

Facebook today introduced two new features for Messenger called Message Reactions and Mentions. The previously rumored Message Reactions feature is getting comparisons to Apple’s own iMessage features introduced with iOS 10, allowing users to react to individual messages in a conversation with various emojis: The person that sent the original message will then see a small animation indicating a reaction was made to one of their messages, or if the app is closed, they’ll get a notification on their device much like a regular message has been received....
