After more than a month since the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screen sizes were announced, Facebook has released an updated version of its iPhone app to take advantage of the bigger screens. The new app features a smaller navigation bar and shows more content on the screen. Facebook had previously updated its Messenger app for the new iPhones, although its alternative Facebook Paper app is still awaiting an update....

Back in October Facebook added the ability to edit posts and comments and also view all of your changes. However, at the time the feature was only available to iPhone users. Today iPad users can finally edit posts too with an update to the Facebook iOS app that just rolled out on the App Store. Also new in version 6.7 of the app is new languages for icons, but Facebook doesn’t list the specific languages in its release notes....

What’s most interesting about these fake iPhones is that they were made from real iPhone parts. The assumption is that the companies that made supplies for Apple would make additional parts and sell them to third parties who would somehow assemble a Frankenstein of iPhone and non-iPhone parts together and sell them at double the cost. It would be interesting and surprising if they got iOS working on these. I’m guessing a flavor of Android with a iOS-like skin was used....

Primary iPhone assembler Foxconn says that it has begun work on expansion plans for plants outside of China as it seeks to recover from production lost to the coronavirus outbreak. The company is also ‘cautiously’ resuming production in China… It does, however, warn that revenues will be hit in the meantime, reports Reuters. Reuters recently claimed that Foxconn was aiming to be at 50% of normal production levels in China by the end of February, but the company subsequently denied this....

The FBI is now leading the investigation into the alleged iCloud hack in which nude photographs of a number of celebrities were obtained, reports the Telegraph. FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller said: It has been suggested that a vulnerability in the Find My Phone service may have allowed attackers to brute-force passwords in order to access the iCloud accounts of celebrities … The FBI previously ran an investigation leading to the prosecution of Christopher Chaney, who was jailed for ten years after posting naked photos from the phones and computers of Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and other celebrities....

Apple’s online store last month mysteriously went offline for hours in what had been a slight tweak which saw a limited roll out of Facebook and Twitter sharing on the Mac Pro page and iPod classic pages. Today, the company rolled out the social sharing buttons for every product sold on the online store, including printers, accessories, speakers and other third-party products.
